Wright, who was selected as the fourth pick in the 2022 draft, also contributed with an assist. Since being called up from the AHL on Sunday, he has scored three goals in three games.
Coach Dave Hakstol praised Wright’s confident performance, highlighting his offensive and defensive skills.
In addition to Wright’s goals, Matty Beniers also scored for the Kraken, securing their first-ever sweep of the Ducks in a four-game season series. This game was particularly significant for Beniers, marking his 100th career point. Despite personal achievements, Beniers expressed a desire for the team to finish the season strong and look ahead to next year.
Philipp Grubauer made 16 saves for the Kraken, while Oliver Bjorkstrand contributed with two assists.
Anaheim’s Leo Carlsson scored a remarkable goal, becoming one of the rookies in the league with at least 10 goals this season. Lukas Dostal made 24 saves for the Ducks.
Wright’s first goal came from redirecting Bjorkstrand’s shot in the first period, followed by a snap shot assisted by Jaden Schwartz in the second period. Later, Beniers extended the Kraken’s lead with a power-play goal.
Carlsson scored for the Ducks in the second period, showcasing his skill with a memorable goal. Adam Larsson’s consecutive games streak ended at 343 as he awaited the birth of his first child with his wife. Larsson’s absence was a change for the Kraken’s defensive lineup.
