Shawn Michaels, widely regarded as one of the greatest WWE stars of all time, recently shared his admiration for another legendary in-ring performer, Randy Orton, in a documentary series. Orton, a third-generation wrestler, boasts an impressive lineage as the son of Bob Orton Jr. and grandson of Bob Orton.

Since joining WWE in 2000 and transitioning to the main roster in 2002, Orton quickly rose to prominence as one of the company’s standout talents.

During the latest episode of the A&E Biography: WWE Legends series, Michaels praised the 14-time world champion, noting that Orton has surpassed his father’s achievements:

“I don’t know how many legacies come in and far exceed the one before them, and I mean that [with] no disrespect to his father, but Randy, in a short amount of time, stepped out of that shadow, everything, and just created something all himself. The fact that Orton was his last name just happened to be a happy coincidence.”

Bob Orton Jr., who wrestled for WWE (then WWF) in the 1980s, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005.
