Alcaraz and Sinner

Juan Carlos Ferrero has suggested that the relationship between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner could face challenges as their rivalry intensifies.

Both Alcaraz and Sinner are expected to make significant strides in tennis in the coming years. Despite their young age, Alcaraz, at 20, has already clinched two Grand Slam titles, while Sinner, aged 22, secured victory at the Australian Open 2024.

Their rivalry on the court is equally competitive, with Sinner narrowly leading their head-to-head record at 4-3.

Speaking to Marca, Juan Carlos Ferrero, who has been coaching Carlos Alcaraz since 2019, addressed the budding rivalry between Alcaraz and Sinner and the potential impact on their relationship in the future.

“Often, it’s not easy when your biggest rival is someone you frequently compete against. The more matches you play and the more losses you endure, the strain on that relationship can become challenging,” Ferrero remarked.

Despite this, Ferrero noted that there is currently a sense of harmony between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

“Both of them share a remarkably healthy and positive relationship. Carlos appreciates Jannik’s strengths, and they can both elevate each other’s game,” Ferrero concluded.
