AB de Villiers

Retired cricketer AB de Villiers responded to Roger Federer’s recent social media post, in which the tennis legend showcased his practice session with a humorous revelation.

Federer and De Villiers both enjoyed illustrious careers in their respective sports. De Villiers retired from international cricket in 2018 due to deteriorating eyesight but continued playing in domestic leagues until announcing his complete retirement from cricket in November 2021.

Similarly, Federer bid farewell to tennis in 2022 at the Laver Cup, marking his last professional match at Wimbledon, where he was defeated in the quarterfinals by Hubert Hurkacz.

Despite Federer’s retirement, he occasionally shares glimpses of his activities related to the sport, as he did recently with a video on Instagram showing him practicing his forehands and backhands against a wall, displaying his impeccable strokeplay and graceful footwork.

In response to Federer’s video, De Villiers humorously quipped on X, formerly Twitter, suggesting that the wall was the “best opponent” Federer had ever faced.

“The best opponent you’ll ever play against!” De Villiers commented via X, formerly Twitter.
