The Dallas Cowboys haven’t finalized an extension for quarterback Dak Prescott, but they have made adjustments to his current contract.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the team has converted Prescott’s $5 million roster bonus into a signing bonus to create additional cap space. This restructuring also involved adding void years to Prescott’s contract, resulting in $4 million in cap space for the ongoing season.

As a result of these changes, Prescott’s cap hit for the 2024 season now stands at $55.455 million. The void years ensure that Prescott will continue to count against the Cowboys’ cap even if he were to depart after the 2024 season.

While this restructuring doesn’t rule out the possibility of a contract extension for Prescott in the future, it’s uncertain whether such a deal will materialize during the offseason.
