England’s national team could be without their captain, Harry Kane, for their upcoming friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium. Kane sustained an ankle injury while playing for Bayern Munich in a Bundesliga match on Saturday.

According to Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, Kane twisted his ankle in the goal net during the team’s 5-2 victory over Darmstadt. Tuchel mentioned that Kane received treatment and the extent of the injury is yet to be determined. He expressed hope that it was not a serious injury.

The incident occurred late in the game when Kane collided with the post while attempting to reach the ball rebounding off the crossbar from Jamal Musiala’s shot.

Despite setting a Bundesliga record with his 31st league goal in his debut season, Kane’s joy was dampened by the injury.

In a social media post, Kane expressed pride in breaking the Bundesliga record but emphasized the importance of the team’s win.

Bayern’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, assured that the club is in close communication with the England national team regarding Kane’s injury. He stated that Kane won’t take any risks and will prioritize his recovery, indicating that his availability for the upcoming friendlies is uncertain.
