One of the NFL’s most effective tacklers has secured a new contract. Linebacker Foye Oluokun has agreed to a fresh four-year deal, extending his commitment to the team until 2027, as reported by multiple sources.
Reported details reveal that Oluokun’s new contract is valued at $45 million, with $22.5 million guaranteed upon signing.
Although Oluokun still had one year remaining on his previous three-year contract with the Jaguars, it has now been replaced.
Oluokun has been a consistent starter for Jacksonville over the past two seasons, featuring in every game.
He topped the NFL in solo tackles during both of these seasons. In the 2023 season, he played every defensive snap and ended with impressive stats: 173 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 10 QB hits, 2.5 sacks, six passes defensed, and an interception.
Originally drafted in the sixth round in 2018, Oluokun spent his first four NFL seasons with the Falcons. He became a regular starter in 2020 and led the league in total tackles in 2021.
Throughout his 98-game career, with 75 starts, Oluokun has amassed 32 tackles for loss, 37 quarterback hits, 9.5 sacks, 22 passes defensed, six interceptions, and 10 forced fumbles.
