Before Marcus Semien even laid eyes on his first World Series ring, he had heard plenty about how impressive it would be. “They weren’t exaggerating at all,” remarked the Texas Rangers’ standout second baseman.

Following the grand reveal of the franchise’s inaugural championship banner on opening day, the Rangers wrapped up their celebratory festivities by receiving their rings in another pregame event on Saturday night, ahead of the second game in a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs.

Adorned with a multitude of diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and other precious stones, the rings commemorate a multitude of remarkable achievements. The flawless 11-0 postseason road record, a feat never before achieved in MLB history, is commemorated, along with the 52 diamond points spelling out “champions,” symbolizing the franchise’s years in Texas since relocating from Washington.

Inside the central “T” logo, which serves as the focal point of the ring, lie the stones symbolizing the historic road record, flanked by 23 red rubies for the championship year and encircled by 103 blue sapphires representing the total number of regular season and playoff victories.

The face of the ring can be flipped to reveal another “T” logo, housing 49 red rubies to signify the players on the 2023 roster. Beneath the detachable face lies the inscription of the 11-0 road record, accompanied by the words “road dominance.” Each player’s last name, number, and signature are etched onto the ring.

The Rangers swept the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL wild-card series before triumphing twice in Baltimore to commence a sweep in the AL Division Series, culminating in the franchise’s first home postseason victory.

During the AL Championship Series against the defending champions, the Houston Astros, the Rangers emerged victorious in all seven games, with every win secured on the road. They later clinched the World Series title with three wins in Arizona during the five-game series against the Diamondbacks.
