Haggai Chisom Ndubuis, who hails from Nigeria and discovered the NFL through YouTube at age 18, has earned an opportunity to pursue his dream of playing professional football.

The Commanders have confirmed the signing of Ndubuis, who was spotted by the NFL’s International Player Pathway program and has been refining his football skills over the past few years.

Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 323 pounds, Ndubuis has been tested as both an offensive and defensive lineman.

He showcased his abilities as an offensive lineman for the Cardinals during the 2022 preseason and as a defensive lineman for the Broncos in the 2023 preseason.

However, the Commanders have designated him as a defensive lineman in their announcement.

To encourage the recruitment of international players, the NFL provides roster exemptions for them. Therefore, Ndubuis will not count towards the Commanders’ 90-player offseason roster limit. Additionally, if he joins their practice squad, he will not be included in the 16-player practice squad limit.
