Ian Wright Tells an Arsenal Player that if He Doesn’t Do Better, He Might Not Get to Play in the Starting Lineup

Ian Wright told Eddie Nketiah that Gabriel Jesus could take his place in the team because Nketiah did not play well in Arsenal’s 1-0 win against Everton on Sunday.

Ian Wright got upset because Eddie Nketiah did not move around much in the penalty area, and he did not take chances when the ball was coming towards the goal. Alan Shearer also said that Nketiah is not a top-level striker.

It was pointed out that the Arsenal star rarely touched the ball during the match, further underscoring Wright’s point that he must at least try harder to get to the ball when it is put into the penalty area. As he told Premier League Productions: Put the Ball in the Goal (17/09/23 5:35 pm).

In the end, the 24-year-old was replaced after an hour by Gabriel Jesus, who is still trying to regain fitness after missing pre-season due to injury.

Mikel Arteta’s side will host PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Gabriel Jesus starts as Arsenal’s number nine.

The Brazilian player had to talk to reporters with his manager on Tuesday and will probably be chosen to start the game.

Nketiah is a Striker that Does Not Touch the Ball Much

“What you said when you mentioned Eddie is that he’s a low-contact striker,” Wright said. “For me, this is food and drink for the striker. At this point, you have to take risks (a cross comes from the left, but Nketiah does not attack the near post).

“He has to move because he is on the right side. He has to get close to that defender. You have to do some sliding or something to stop this. The important thing here is that if you are a low-touch striker, you have to penetrate into the penalty area.

“When you have a player like Jesus going into the game and maybe a player starting ahead of you, you have to take shots on goal even if you have half a chance, and you have to take advantage of that.`

`Because that’s what keeps you on the team and keeps people from saying, `Oh, Eddie has to play.” Because that’s what they said before the game.

“He should get an opportunity, but when we consider the small details, like how we reacted and what Alan (Alan Shearer) mentioned about certain actions and scoring goals, it’s difficult to achieve that at this level. It’s something that must happen.”

Pressure is Too Much on Nketiah

The next few months will be crucial for Nketiah. This is because if he does not show a stable performance, questions will be asked.

There has been talk that a player named Ivan Toney could join Arsenal, with his current ban set to end in mid-January, with the Premier League club pushing to sign the Brentford star.

No wonder. There is no doubt that Toney is far better than Nketiah, and if Arsenal’s poacher lacks that consistency next winter, fans can only hope for one thing.

Ian Wright is Surprised that Everton Let Go of a 27-year-old Player, Saying it Shows the Drop in their Performance

Ian Wright believes that when Alex Iwobi moved from Everton to Fulham over the summer, it indicates a drop in Everton’s performance. He thinks that Alex Iwobi was the best player for creating scoring opportunities in Sean Dyche’s team, but Everton allowed him to leave.

It was also said that in the past, when Everton sold an important player, they would usually go to a strong team like Manchester United, not to a team like Fulham. This was said during an interview on Premier League Productions.

Everton’s current financial difficulties are well-documented, and the sale of Iwobi, who paid a transfer fee of £22 million (Evening Standard), may have something to do with this.

This could be the case if Goodison Park bosses need to make ends meet and Wright shares his thoughts about a potential takeover of the club.

Overall, a dark cloud continues to hang over Everton due to a lack of wins in the Premier League and concerns over who will replace Farhad Moshiri and Iwobi.

Ian Wright Was Not Happy with Alex Iwobi’s Transfer

“In my opinion, Everton have released their most creative player in Iwobi in recent seasons,” Wright said. “Then they sold him to Fulham.

“That’s the level they sank to. I don’t respect Fulham. We also talk about Rooney’s move to Manchester United, big-name players, and Arteta’s move to Arsenal.

“Players are moving to big clubs now. Everton will sell some players and top players to Fulham. That’s how depressed they are. “It must be aimed at his door, Moshiri’s door.

It’s simply because he came with the money and doesn’t realize that he now has a different level of ownership. He didn’t have the expertise to do it.”

Iwobi is a Player Who Doesn’t Always Get the Credit He Deserves

The 27-year-old’s lack of ruthlessness in front of goal is understandable, but that shouldn’t cloud his actions outside the box. Iwobi carried the ball with ease, was reliable even without the ball, and was able to play deep both in midfield and on the flanks.

He is very different from the players that Everton currently has in midfield and the current static players that are there because they need players like Iwobi alongside them.

Ian Wright Gives a Brief Four-word Opinion on Tottenham’s Summer Signing

Pundit Ian Wright was very happy with Manor Solomon’s performance. He thought the Tottenham Hotspur winger did a very nice job when they played against Burnley on Saturday.

Ian Wright carefully observed how good Manor Solomon was as he helped Tottenham Hotspur win against Burnley during the weekend.

Wright said more about this on The Kelly and Wrighty Show for Premier League Productions, and this took place on the 4th of September.

He was very happy talking about a player from Tottenham, Son Heung-min. Son scored three beautiful goals (a hat-trick), and he made things really hard for Burnley in the game.

After that, the focus was moved to Solomon, who is from Israel. He is the person that helped set up two goals in Tottenham’s big 5-2 win over Burnley.

Pundits Wright and Owen Hargreaves were really impressed with Solomon. He did a good job in his first league start for Spurs and left a good impression.

Hargreaves said that Solomon looked really good, was he not? He was clearly impressed with Solomon.

Wright also added, “He was very, very good.” It is clear that both Hargreaves and Wright were in agreement about how good Solomon played.

“Solomon was really, really good the way he plays.” It sounds like he was very pleased with his entire performance.

Manor Solomon Played Well, Exactly as the Team Wanted Him to Play

Richarlison was not quite ready to start the game, which is why he stayed on the bench. This meant that Son Heung-min was the one who played in the front position.

The coach, Ange Postecoglou, agreed to put Solomon on the left side of the field. This was at the beginning of the game, and it turned out to be the right choice for Tottenham.

Solomon was always seen to be a big problem for the other team, and the two assists he made clearly show how good he is when it comes to helping the team score goals.

He actually played really well in the game, and it happened less than a day after Tottenham signed Brennan Johnson, a player who plays forward from Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham signed a new player from Wales, Brennan Johnson, who can also play on the sides of the field. So, Solomon wanted to show that he was very good when he got the chance to begin in the Premier League for the first time with Tottenham.

He played very well, and this has made the coach, Postecoglou, think a lot about what he is going to do when Richarlison is back in his full form and Johnson, who we know is comfortable playing with the team.

Tottenham and Solomon Have Not Yet finalized His Contract.

Tottenham signed Solomon to a five-year deal this summer, and they first made it known that it did not cost them any money to get him.

Solomon was able to stop his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk because of the fight that was going on in Ukraine. Even at that, his contract with them was supposed to end in December anyway.

Tottenham has been having talks with Shakhtar so they can understand how to pay them the money they still want, as reported by The Athletic.

Shakhtar is demanding €6.5 million (which falls around £5.6 million) for Solomon, but Tottenham has suggested giving them a part of the money they can possibly realize if they sell Solomon to a different team in the near future.

No matter what amount Tottenham and Shakhtar agree on, it is already clear that  Solomon will be a very good deal if we consider the prices in today’s market.

Ian Wright Believes Liverpool Missed Out on a Top Defender Who is Now Playing for Rivals, and That is ‘Not Good Enough’

As of the time of the summer transfer window, AS Roma and their manager, Jose Mourinho decided not to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

This information came from the Italian news source Il Messaggero.

Tottenham Hotspur Offered Hugo Lloris to AS Roma

A news report from Il Messaggero made it known that AS Roma had the chance to bring in two goalkeepers, Hugo Lloris and Kasper Schmeichel, to play for their team.

If AS Roma had decided to sign the goalkeeper from Tottenham, he would have joined his former coach, Mourinho, at the Stadio Olimpico. However, Mourinho seems to be happy with their present goalkeeper Rui Patricio. He is, for now, the team’s number-one keeper.

Lloris can never pretend to be okay with this news in disguise because he is currently looking for a new team to play for.

Sometime in June, he told Nice-Matin that he wanted to go for a new adventure because he had been playing in North London for eleven years, which was long enough.

Lloris can still find the new team he is looking for, but it is becoming hard for him because most transfer windows are now closed. He is earning around £100,000 per week, according to Spotrac.

Joining Roma Could Have Been a Good Choice for Lloris

Lloris sees it very disappointing that the move to Roma did not come to pass. He could have been changed to play under Mourinho again, and Roma has been coming up well since Mourinho became their coach.

Even though Roma is having some problems right now, they had a good season last year. They ended up in sixth place in Serie A and even reached the final of the Europa League, which was a significant achievement for them.

Mourinho’s team also managed to win the Europa Conference League in the 2021/22 season, which clearly shows that they have been performing very well in recent years under his lead.

For some reasons that are not known, the Stadio Olimpico did not want Lloris, so he will have to look for another team to play with.

In another news, a well-known Pundit, Ian Wright, said that Manor Solomon, a player from Tottenham Hotspur, did a great job when they played with Burnley on Saturday.

Ian Wright observed how good Manor Solomon played. He helped Tottenham Hotspur win very easily against Burnley over the weekend.

Wright said this on The Kelly and Wrighty Show for Premier League Productions on the 4th of September.

Wright was pleased about a player from Tottenham, Son Heung-min because he scored three goals (a hat-trick) and played so well against Burnley.
