Team India batsman Virat Kohli lauded the young squad for their remarkable performance in securing the Test series victory against England, despite trailing 0-1 initially.

The Men in Blue exhibited resilience and determination, culminating in a decisive five-wicket triumph in Ranchi on Day 4, giving them an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.

Initially, England held the upper hand after posting a competitive total in the first innings and restricting India to 177/7 at one point. However, a gritty innings by Dhruv Jurel ensured that the visitors’ lead remained marginal.

In the second innings, India once again showcased their fighting spirit, orchestrating a remarkable collapse to bowl out England for 145 runs after they were 110/3, before successfully chasing down the target of 192 runs.

Following the conclusion of the match in Ranchi, Virat Kohli took to Twitter to express his jubilation, ensuring the continuation of Team India’s 12-year streak of home series victories.

“YES!!! A phenomenal series win by our young team. Showed grit, determination, and resilience,” Kohli tweeted.

Dhruv Jurel was honored as the player of the match for his pivotal contributions in both innings.

“I play according to the demands of the situation. The 1st innings, we needed to get runs as well, we knew we had to bat last so any runs would be vital. I was involved in some partnerships, so credit does go to all those who stayed and added runs. I just saw the ball and then reacted to it, not thinking too far ahead,” Dhruv Jurel remarked during the post-match presentation.

With their eyes set on accruing more points in the World Test Championship (WTC), Team India aims to conclude the five-match series in style when they take on England in the final Test in Dharamshala from March 7 onwards.
