During an interview with Rich Eisen, former Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy confirmed that the owner wanted to meet with all the quarterback prospects in just two days.

It’s understandable. This decision is crucial for the Commanders. It’s their most important draft pick since Robert Griffin III in 2012. They could be getting a player who becomes the face of the team, which could help them secure a good stadium deal.

But there’s a risk. Just look at the Panthers. If the owner has too much influence, it could lead to a big mistake.

This is a challenge for Commanders owner Josh Harris. His employees will be watching him closely for any clues about who he prefers.

It would have been better to have separate days for each prospect. But given the importance of the pick, they made do. Ideally, the owner would have been available for separate visits on different days.

This is one of the issues with being a fan. You can’t choose your owner. But the best owner is someone who strikes the right balance between being involved and trusting the experts to do their jobs.

For the Commanders, it would be best to have an owner who is interested in meeting with the prospects and available for separate visits.

Despite the unusual approach, the owner wanted to be involved, even with his limited availability due to other business interests. But still, it’s better than having Daniel Snyder in charge.
