Bronny James Declares for 2024 NBA Draft: USC Freshman Guard Eyes Professional Career, Says Report

Thread

According to a report by Shams Charania of The Athletic, Bronny James, a freshman guard for USC, has declared for the 2024 NBA draft.

The decision comes after Bronny, son of NBA legend LeBron James, entered the transfer portal earlier this week. In the coming days, Bronny is anticipated to engage in workouts and visits with NBA teams, using evaluations from scouts to make a final decision regarding his draft prospects.

Although there remains a possibility for Bronny to return for a second season of college basketball, it appears unlikely that he will continue at USC.

The departure of his recruiting coach, Andy Enfield, who took the SMU job, adds uncertainty to Bronny’s collegiate future. Eric Musselman, USC’s new coach, will undoubtedly endeavor to retain Bronny, but the young player will keep his options open as he weighs his next moves.

Throughout the current season, Bronny has participated in 25 games, starting six of them. His averages stand at 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, with shooting percentages of 36.6% from the field overall and 26.7% from beyond the arc.
