Jake Paul’s next boxing opponent confirmed

YouTuber turned professional prizefighter Jake Paul is set to compete in the boxing ring once again in March, aiming for his ninth professional victory. The 27-year-old boasts an 8-1 record in his boxing career thus far.

Scheduled to face off against the seasoned 17-2 boxer Ryan Bourland on March 2 in Puerto Rico, Paul will be part of a card headlined by hometown champion Amanda Serrano. Serrano is defending her IBF, WBO, and WBA featherweight titles against Nina Meinke.

This upcoming bout marks another significant step in Jake Paul’s evolving boxing journey following his recent first-round knockout of Andre August in December.

Notably, these fights signal a departure from Paul’s previous strategy of competing against mixed martial artists and influencers. Ryan Bourland, on the other hand, enters the ring with a winning streak, having secured victories in each of his last three matches, including a knockout triumph over a 4-6 professional opponent last summer.

Jake Paul, in addressing the upcoming match, emphasized the straightforward goal of building the necessary skill set to become a world champion.

With Bourland boasting twice as many professional fights, Paul humorously referred to him as “The Rhino” and playfully suggested that, like the endangered animal in his nickname, Bourland is also at risk.

Announcing the fight on social media, Paul expressed his commitment to the cause by revealing that his purse for the event, which will be broadcast on DAZN in the United States, will be donated to the nonprofit organization Boxing Bullies.

This organization is dedicated to supporting the construction and renovation of boxing gyms in Puerto Rico.
