Buffalo Bills’ Damien Harris Hospitalized After Neck Injury. Buffalo Bills running back Damien Harris was rushed to a local hospital in an ambulance following a neck injury sustained during Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants. Coach Sean McDermott provided an update, stating that Harris currently maintains full mobility in his body, and his medical scans have shown positive results.

Harris incurred the injury while rushing the football on a crucial third-and-1 play from the Buffalo 34-yard line during the second quarter. He took a hard hit to the neck area from Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke after colliding with Bills right guard O’Cyrus Torrence. Despite the impact, Harris attempted to continue running before being brought to the ground.

Medical personnel and Bills athletic trainers attended to Harris on the field, with the entire Bills sideline showing their support for their injured teammate. Left tackle Dion Dawkins confirmed Harris was breathing but had to step away as Harris received medical care.

As he was loaded into the ambulance, Harris gave a reassuring thumbs-up sign with his left hand. The Bills later announced that he had movement in his arms and legs and was undergoing further evaluations at the hospital.

Dawkins, visibly shaken by the incident, emphasized the emotional impact of such moments and expressed concern for Harris, who recently received the news of his impending fatherhood. The potential long-term consequences of the injury weighed heavily on the team’s minds.

Harris, known for his upbeat presence in the locker room and his anticipation of becoming a father, arrived at the game wearing a distinctive blue sweater and pants adorned with blue accents.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen also expressed his concern, highlighting Harris’s contributions to the team and the irreplaceable energy he brings to their offense. Allen, himself dealing with a shoulder injury, assured that all scans on his shoulder were normal.

The injury occurred on Harris’s first carry of the game, where he was also serving as the team’s primary kickoff returner. Harris, who joined the Bills during the offseason after four years with the New England Patriots, quickly acclimated to his new team and had a productive offseason. Before the injury, he had 22 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown, along with two receptions for 16 yards during the season.
