Darts star Luke Littler, a devoted Manchester United fan, recently expressed his allegiance to the club on social media.
Sharing his sentiments on Instagram on February 12, he posted a story featuring Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz’s celebratory reaction to his equalizer against Manchester United, accompanied by the caption (via Birmingham Mail):
“Karma is real.”
Littler’s post alluded to the eventual outcome of the match, where Manchester United secured a late winning goal, courtesy of Scott McTominay, leaving the hosts disappointed at Villa Park on February 11.
Following the game, Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag was questioned about whether Luiz’s celebration had spurred on his players. In response, the manager stated:
“I don’t have an opinion about that. I haven’t spoken to the players. Maybe it’s fuelling, I don’t know. I don’t think it is important. It is about us; we have to think about our game and not the opposition.”
Manchester United took the lead in the 17th minute through Rasmus Hojlund’s goal. Luiz’s celebration for Villa came in the 67th minute, but McTominay’s decisive header in the 86th minute secured all three points for the Red Devils.
With this victory, Manchester United secured their third consecutive win in the Premier League and climbed to sixth place in the table, accumulating 41 points after 24 games.
