Colorado head coach Deion Sanders recently shared insights on potential future destinations for his star players, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, hinting that there are certain teams they may refuse to play for in the NFL.
During an appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, Sanders expressed confidence that both players could land within the top four picks of the upcoming NFL draft. However, he emphasized the significance of the team they join, suggesting they might follow in the footsteps of Eli Manning, who famously declined to play for the San Diego Chargers after being selected first overall in 2004.
Reflecting on Shedeur’s remarkable performance last season, which included 3,230 passing yards and 27 touchdowns, Sanders drew parallels to Eli Manning’s situation, indicating that the quarterback’s destination could be pivotal. Meanwhile, Hunter’s versatility as a cornerback and wide receiver for the Buffaloes showcased his potential impact on both sides of the ball.
Sanders remained cautious about potential draft outcomes, expressing a preference for warmer climates for his son Shedeur, who grew up in Texas and played in relatively temperate conditions in Colorado. While Shedeur opted to return for another season with the Buffaloes, Sanders asserted that he would have been a highly coveted prospect in the previous NFL draft.
