Luton missed an opportunity to climb out of the English Premier League relegation zone after suffering a heavy defeat from Brentford, losing 5-1 on Saturday.
Despite the loss, The Hatters remained in 18th place, just a point behind Nottingham Forest, albeit having played one more game.
Meanwhile, Brentford’s victory at Kenilworth Road all but secured their stay in the top flight, as they now sit comfortably 10 points above the relegation zone with only four games left to play.
The standout performer for Brentford was Yoane Wissa, who netted twice in the first half, taking his tally for the season to 10 goals.
Wissa opened the scoring in the 24th minute and doubled his tally just before halftime. Ethan Pinnock extended Brentford’s lead in the 62nd minute, followed by a goal from Keane Lewis-Potter two minutes later.
Kevin Schade sealed the win with a fifth goal, while Luke Berry managed to pull one back for Luton in stoppage time.
