Bruno Fernandes scored two goals as Manchester United defeated Sheffield United 4-2 in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Erik ten Hag’s team found themselves trailing 1-0 and 2-1 against the last-placed Sheffield at Old Trafford before eventually clinching a victory that propelled them up to sixth in the standings.
Jayden Bogle took advantage of an Andre Onana mistake to score the opening goal after 35 minutes, but Harry Maguire equalized against his former team seven minutes later.
Sheffield regained the lead through Ben Brereton Diaz in the 50th minute, and Fernandes leveled the score from the penalty spot in the 61st minute.
United took the lead for the first time of the night when Fernandes scored a powerful shot from 25 yards out in the 81st minute, and then he assisted Rasmus Hojlund to add another goal four minutes later.
United is now 13 points behind fourth-place Aston Villa with a game in hand.
The match was attended by Ineos director of sport Dave Brailsford and newly appointed technical director Jason Wilcox.
