Thierry Henry watched from the stands as his investment in Como paid off with the Italian second-tier club earning promotion to Serie A on Friday.

Como, led by Henry’s former Arsenal teammate Cesc Fabregas, secured second place in Serie B with a 1-1 draw against Cosenza, marking their return to the top tier after 21 years. Parma had already secured promotion.

Henry, the renowned French footballer who will be coaching the French men’s under-23 team at the Paris Olympics, acquired a stake in Como two years ago. The club, located in a scenic lakeside stadium approximately 50 kilometers north of Milan, could potentially replace Frosinone in Serie A after Frosinone’s defeat to Serie A champions Inter Milan with a score of 5-0.

With two weeks remaining in the season, six teams are still vying to avoid relegation to the second tier, including Frosinone, who currently sits 16th on the 20-team table, just two points above the relegation zone. Despite Frosinone’s six-game unbeaten streak, their loss to Inter Milan ended their hopes of securing safety.

Inter Milan’s goals came from Davide Frattesi, Marko Arnautovic, Tajon Buchanan (his first for the club), Lautaro Martinez, and Marcus Thuram, sealing a comprehensive victory.
