Rookie Malik Nabers, who leads the NFL in receptions after four games, missed New York Giants practice on Wednesday because of a concussion.

Coach Brian Daboll mentioned that the No. 6 pick in the draft is still in the early stages of the concussion protocol, and it’s uncertain if he will play in Sunday’s game against the Seahawks (3-1) in Seattle.

Nabers got hurt late in the 20-15 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. He had a career-high 12 catches for 115 yards before he was injured while trying to catch a pass near the Giants’ bench.

“We’ll just take it day by day with him,” Daboll said before the Giants (1-3) held their first practice since the game. “Really, other than that, I have no update other than he’s in the protocol and just hope he continues to get better.”

Nabers has 35 receptions, which is five more than the second-place receiver, Nico Collins of Houston.

The LSU product is second with 386 yards and tied for third with three touchdown catches. He is the first player in the NFL to have this combination of numbers in his first four games.

His 35 receptions are the second-highest total for a player starting their career. Puka Nacua of the Rams had 39 catches in his first four games in 2023.

“There’s no doubt he’s been a big part of our offense so far and someone who we’ve counted on in a lot of spots,” quarterback Daniel Jones said. “So, it’ll change a little bit. But the guys we got out there, we have a lot of confidence in them winning their matchups and getting open. I know we’ll play well.”

Second-year receiver Jalin Hyatt will get more practice time with the first team, Daboll said.
