The New Orleans Saints are struggling with a tough five-game losing streak, leading to speculation about whether the team might trade away some veteran players for draft picks. Running back Alvin Kamara took to social media to deny any rumors that he wanted to leave New Orleans.

“I ain’t request a trade.. so that’s a lie. I’m in an orange robe on the way to Knoxville.. #WhoDat”

The Saints are also dealing with injuries. Quarterback Derek Carr is not expected to return until Week 9 due to an oblique injury. Wide receiver Rasid Shaheed is out for the rest of the season after surgery on his meniscus, and cornerback Paulson Adebo is sidelined for the year after breaking his leg against the Denver Broncos.

Additionally, wide receiver Chris Olave did not clear concussion protocol and missed Week 7. Things are not looking good for the Saints.

Reflecting on their early-season promise, many fans remember how hopeful they felt after Week 2 when the Saints seemed to be back on track. However, that momentum quickly faded.

During halftime of their 33-10 loss to the Broncos, former player Richard Sherman criticized the team’s performance on a segment via Awful Announcing.

“I’m confused. I’m perplexed. I don’t get it,” Sherman said. “[The Saints] don’t want to tackle. They don’t want to make plays. These are good players. Tyrann Mathieu is a good player… the easiest interception of his life, he drops it. I see guys not giving effort to get to the ball carrier, to make tackles. Like, I don’t understand this. It seems like they want to get their coach fired. That’s the effort they’re playing with.”

After the game, Kamara expressed concern about the fan reaction, saying he had never seen the Dome empty out like that in his eight years with the team. “And I can’t blame them. They’re fed up,” Kamara said.
