The New York Jets recently acquired star wide receiver Davante Adams, which has led to multiple NFL teams inquiring about the availability of another standout Jets receiver, Garrett Wilson.

While these teams are interested in exploring trade possibilities for Wilson, the Jets have made it clear that they do not plan to trade him. Wilson’s impressive performance and potential to command a lucrative contract in the future are likely reasons why other teams are interested in him. However, for now, New York intends to retain Wilson despite the interest.

Teams that have approached the Jets about Wilson are also prepared to offer him a significant contract when he becomes eligible, but the Jets’ focus remains on keeping the talented receiver.

Wilson, a former first-round pick, is a key part of the Jets’ offense, and the team’s decision to hold on to him aligns with their long-term plans. Although trading him might seem tempting given the rising market for wide receivers, the Jets are not looking to move Wilson at this time.

Meanwhile, the Jets are reportedly open to trading veteran wide receiver Mike Williams. Williams, who missed practice earlier in the week due to personal reasons, is still expected to play in the upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although the Las Vegas Raiders were interested in including Williams in the trade for Adams, the Jets did not include him in the deal. However, the possibility of Williams being traded remains, with both the Steelers and the Chargers showing interest in acquiring him.

Discussions about a potential trade for Williams have been postponed until after the Jets’ game against the Steelers. Williams’ reduced role in the offense, especially following Adams’ arrival, could be a contributing factor to the trade talks. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers had also recently criticized Williams for a misstep during a game-losing interception, which further complicated his standing on the team.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Williams’ future, both he and Wilson have expressed excitement about Adams joining the team. Wilson, in particular, has welcomed the addition, noting that Adams was one of his favorite players growing up. Wilson also downplayed concerns about losing targets to Adams, indicating that he is not worried about his role diminishing.

With 41 receptions for 399 yards and three touchdowns this season, Wilson remains a central figure in the Jets’ offense. In contrast, Williams’ role has diminished, with only 10 catches for 145 yards, which may lead to his eventual departure from the team.
