On Monday, the Arizona Cardinals made a trade with the Denver Broncos to acquire linebacker Baron Browning, strengthening their pass rush as the trade deadline approaches.

In exchange, the Cardinals will send a sixth-round draft pick in 2025 to the Broncos. The deal is still pending a physical examination.

Browning, 25, is in his fourth year in the NFL after being drafted by the Broncos in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft out of Ohio State. He has a total of 9 1/2 sacks in his career, but he has not recorded any sacks this season.

The Cardinals also have other players from Ohio State, including left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

Browning has only played five games this season due to a foot injury.

The Cardinals, who are currently 5-4, are on a three-game winning streak, putting them in first place in the NFC West. While the pass rush has been an issue for much of the season, the defense was able to record six sacks in a 29-9 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
