The Las Vegas Raiders have bolstered their linebacker corps by signing veteran Devin White to a one-year deal. White, who previously played under Raiders general manager John Spytek and minority owner Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, will reunite with familiar faces as he looks to revitalize his career. The move comes as the Raiders seek to strengthen their defense following key departures in free agency.
A former first-round pick, White was drafted fifth overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019. Over five seasons with the team, he accumulated 585 tackles and 23 sacks in 76 games. His most notable season came in 2020 when he recorded a career-high 140 tackles and nine sacks, playing a pivotal role in the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl victory. His standout performances earned him a Pro Bowl selection in 2021.

White Seeks Redemption and Key Role in Raiders’ Linebacker Corps
After leaving Tampa Bay, White signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024 but did not play in the first four games, leading to his release. He later joined the Houston Texans, where he played in seven games and registered 19 tackles. Despite his recent struggles, White remains a talented linebacker with the potential to make an impact in the right system.
In Las Vegas, White will have the opportunity to compete for a starting role in an inside linebacker unit that lacks depth. While the team recently signed Elandon Roberts, they lost Robert Spillane and Divine Deablo in free agency. The Raiders also attempted to add Christian Elliss, but the Patriots matched their offer sheet. With White now in the mix, the Raiders hope to reinforce their defensive lineup for the upcoming season.
