“20 minutes at Liverpool”: Paul Merson makes fun of a Chelsea player who makes £100,000 a week

London – The Former English footballer said that he hasn’t seen the Chelsea star playing well since he played against Liverpool last season.

Paul Merson believes that Mudryk has not done anything worth remembering since his game against Liverpool last season. Merson said this while discussing Hojlund’s performance against Arsenal this past weekend.

In January 2023, Mudryk made a strong impression for Chelsea against Liverpool. In the January transfer window, the winger from Ukraine joined Chelsea. When he entered the game as a substitute in the 55th minute against the Reds, the £100,000-per-week (The Independent) winger made his Blues debut. Chelsea and Liverpool’s Premier League game concluded in a scoreless tie.

Paul Merson has brutally ridiculed Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk while judging Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund after watching him against Arsenal last weekend.

Merson told Sky Sports: “Rasmus Hojlund looked good – a right handful. But that was for 20 minutes. “I saw Mykhailo Mudryk for 20 minutes at Liverpool in January, and I haven’t seen him since.”

Keeping a positive outlook on Mykhailo Mudryk

In regards to Mykhailo Mudryk, we do concur with Paul Merson. The Chelsea winger hasn’t had much of an impact on the team yet. For the Blues, the winger has made 18 Premier League games.

In those games, the Ukrainian player has only put up two assists and no goals.

That is not a good thing. But let’s not overlook the fact that Mudryk is only 22. Furthermore, he transferred to Chelsea amid a season during which the squad was underperforming, and its manager had been replaced.
Mudryk could advance and get better under Mauricio Pochettino, the former head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.

Mudryk is a reasonably young player who is still evolving, after all.
