Chiefs’ Justin Reid, More React to L’Jarius Sneed’s Trade to Titans, New Contract

Kansas City Chiefs players who celebrated victory in Super Bowl LVIII alongside L’Jarius Sneed are responding to the recent news of the veteran cornerback’s trade to the Tennessee Titans.

Expressing his support, Chiefs safety Justin Reid took to X to convey his sentiments to Sneed. “You deserve it all and more!! Lead them boyz and continue to be great,” he wrote.

The Chiefs are in the final stages of negotiations to send Sneed to the Titans, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal involves a 2025 third-round pick and a swap of seventh-round picks in 2024.

According to information from Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, the Titans are proposing a lucrative four-year extension for Sneed, averaging $19 million per year with $55 million guaranteed.

Reacting to the reported contract, Chiefs defensive end Charles Omenihu couldn’t help but express his amazement.

Cornerback Amik Robertson, who recently joined the Detroit Lions after four seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, also chimed in on Sneed’s deal with excitement.

Sneed, a fourth-round pick in the 2020 draft, has been a significant contributor to the Chiefs’ success, claiming victory in two Super Bowls. His career tally of 6.5 sacks ranks as the second-most among defensive backs in Chiefs franchise history.

Earlier this month, the Chiefs placed a non-exclusive franchise tag on Sneed before allowing him to explore trade opportunities.

With Sneed’s departure, All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie is poised to take on a more prominent role as the Chiefs navigate their defensive restructuring without their star cornerback.
