The Colorado coach was still excited three days after a thrilling 38-31 overtime win against Baylor.
This victory will be remembered by Buffaloes fans, especially after LaJohntay Wester caught a 43-yard Hail Mary pass from Shedeur Sanders with no time left, sending the game into overtime. In overtime, Travis Hunter improved his Heisman Trophy chances by forcing a fumble at the goal line to secure the win while fans rushed the field.
“I don’t condone how the students ran out, but I absolutely love every last minute of it,” Deion Sanders said at his weekly news conference. “It was one of the most beautiful things I ever witnessed in my life.”
Next up is Central Florida this weekend, which required a change in plans. Sanders and the Buffaloes (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) are leaving town on Wednesday for their game in Orlando, Florida, to avoid the arrival of Tropical Storm Helene.
“We’re trying to get ahead of the curve and be smart with it,” Sanders said. “Our guys like consistency, so being settled and having a consistent plan in place works in our favor.”
