This Sunday, the NFL has a match that many consider maybe a preview of the NFC Championship final this season as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys have failed to make it to the Super Bowl since 1996 and will be hoping to make their long-awaited comeback this season.

The 49ers have spoilt the party for the Cowboys in the postseason for two years now and may well do so for the third year in a row in 2023. Dallas enters this Sunday with a 3-1 record, facing the 49ers, who are yet to face a loss this season.

Jerry Jones Speaks

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has spoken highly of the team from San Francisco, considering them to be one of the top challengers for the NFL title this year.

In an interview on 105.3 The Fan with Shan & RJ, Jones said, “They are, right now, probably the most likely team to go win the Super Bowl, but in order for them to get there, they have to go by us, hopefully, two times if that’s the way it falls in the playoffs and we’re in the playoffs, of course.”

The Cowboys will be going into the game with confidence, coming on the back of a commanding 38-3 victory against the New England Patriots.

Dak Prescott put on a show with the quarterback completing 28 of 34 passes for 261 yards and one touchdown.

With a powerful defense backing them, the Cowboys covered a total of 377 yards in the victory.

Jones was pleased with his team’s offensive display against the Patriots and said, “Sunday’s outing against New England was the best I felt about the team’s offense this year.”

With a long season ahead of them, a loss to the 49ers may not seem like a big deal to many, but the Cowboys will look to bury the demons of the past two postseasons and take down a strong San Francisco side.

Jones built up the importance of the game, saying, “You don’t need the game to tell you you’re playing the best, but you need the game to show you how you stack up against the best.”

Fans of both sides will be looking forward to the game on Sunday, with victory giving both sides a chance to have bragging rights going deeper into the season.

With many considering the NFC Championship to be a replay of the game on Sunday, both sides will be looking forward to laying down the marker for the season and staking their claim to go all the way to the Super Bowl.
