The Browns recently stated that they believe quarterback Deshaun Watson’s recovery from his right shoulder injury is progressing well and that he should be prepared for the beginning of the regular season. Watson confirmed this confidence on Thursday.
He started throwing a couple of weeks ago and is expected to participate in the initial conditioning sessions of the team’s offseason program this month. Although it’s unclear what his role will be during on-field activities, Watson stated that he has full confidence in his readiness for the start of the season in September.
“My shoulder is doing great. I’m going to be ready for Week One,” Watson stated, as reported by Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan.
During his first two seasons with the Browns, Watson has had limited playing time due to various reasons. The team hopes that he will have a longer and more consistent tenure on the field in his third season with the Browns.
