Toni Kroos

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has reportedly made a significant decision regarding his future, opting to conclude his illustrious career with the La Liga giants before venturing into personal endeavors.

According to Spanish outlet Relevo (Madrid Xtra), Kroos sees Real Madrid as his final destination in football. Having been with the club for a decade, the German maestro transferred from Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich in July 2014 for €25 million.

At 34 years old, Kroos intends to remain in the Spanish capital, where his family has comfortably settled. Following his retirement from professional football, he plans to explore various personal projects. Notably, he already hosts a podcast titled ‘Einfach mal Luppen’ (Just Click It) with his brother Felix.

Currently, Kroos’s contract with Real Madrid is set to expire after the season. Throughout this campaign, he has been a key figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, featuring 30 times across competitions and contributing seven goals along with one assist.

On his podcast, Kroos’s mother, Birgit Kämmer, expressed her desire for her son to prolong his tenure with Los Blancos. She remarked (via Football-Espana):

“What I want is for him to have a good summer holiday and then start the last season at Real Madrid. That would make your coach, your teammates happy, and I think Leon (one of his sons) and many others as well. But in the end, you have to be happy, so it’s up to you. You decide what you want, and we’ll accept it, that’s all.”

Kroos has undeniably left an indelible mark at Real Madrid, earning admiration as one of the club’s greatest figures. With 447 appearances to his name, he has played a pivotal role in securing 21 major trophies, including four UEFA Champions League titles and three La Liga triumphs.
