Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson enjoys sharing a division with C.J. Stroud

In the realm of sports, many express a desire to compete against the best. It’s a sentiment that resonates with a lot of athletes, myself included. There’s an undeniable satisfaction in proving yourself against top-tier competition; it’s almost like a validation of your own skills and abilities.

However, when it comes to matters like divisional play, I have a slightly different perspective. While some may relish the idea of intense competition throughout the season, I can’t help but see the appeal of guaranteed playoff spots.

Sure, nothing in sports is ever guaranteed, but the allure of securing a postseason berth each year is hard to ignore.

Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson, thanks to our friends at Panini. We discussed a range of topics, including his anticipation for the upcoming 2024 season. However, when Richardson brought up Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, I couldn’t resist diving into the conversation.

Stroud undeniably earned the title of Offensive Rookie of the Year—there’s no debate there. But it’s only natural to wonder what might have been had Richardson played the entire season.

In the world of sports, such hypotheticals are fair game, and I asked Richardson if he shared similar thoughts. He expressed respect and happiness for Stroud’s achievement but acknowledged the competitive drive to believe in one’s own capabilities.

It’s an exciting time for football fans, especially with the prospect of watching AFC South stars like Richardson, Stroud, and Trevor Lawrence battle it out for years to come. These are the moments we’ve been waiting for, and it’s gratifying to see them unfold.

A big thank you to Anthony Richardson and Panini for their time and insights.
