Jules Kounde

Arsenal and Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing Barcelona defender Jules Kounde for a potential move at the end of the season, as per Caught OffSide.

Kounde, a France international, has showcased his versatility during his time at Camp Nou. Despite primarily being a center-back, he has demonstrated his capability to excel at right-back as well.

However, Arsenal already boasts a solid defensive lineup, with players like William Saliba, Gabriel, Jurrien Timber, and Jakub Kiwior capable of filling central defensive positions. Additionally, Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Timber can provide cover at right-back, while Cedric, although currently out of favor, offers depth in that role.

Given the competition for places at Arsenal, Kounde might not be inclined to move to the Emirates.

Nevertheless, the prospect of joining a team contending for the Premier League title and featuring in the Champions League knockout stages could be enticing.

On the other hand, Barcelona has faced challenges in La Liga, trailing behind Real Madrid by eight points in the league standings.

Despite the team’s struggles, Kounde remains a key figure under manager Xavi, featuring in 20 La Liga matches this season and contributing with a goal. Overall, he has amassed 72 appearances across various competitions for Barcelona, registering three goals and nine assists.

With one La Liga title and another trophy to his name at Barcelona, Kounde’s future remains an intriguing subject of speculation.
