Arsenal have reportedly entered the fray alongside Manchester United in pursuit of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana. According to Spanish outlet Sport, the Gunners are eager to secure the services of the Belgian talent, who has also attracted interest from Barcelona.

Mikel Arteta’s squad needs midfield reinforcement, with the contracts of Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny set to expire soon, and Thomas Partey potentially departing. This has spurred Arsenal’s interest in finding a suitable candidate to bolster their midfield ranks.

Manchester United, too, are in search of midfield options due to injuries and underperforming players.

Amadou Onana

While they have seen promising displays from young talent like Kobbie Mainoo, the addition of Onana could provide a significant boost to their squad.

Despite competition from the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal appears to have an edge in the pursuit of Onana, as per the report.

Since joining Everton from Ligue 1 outfit Lille in 2022, the 22-year-old midfielder has made a notable impact. With impressive statistics, including a top speed of over 36km/h, Onana has demonstrated his potential to excel as a key midfielder in the Premier League.

Amassing 27 appearances across all competitions this season, Onana has contributed three goals and one assist to Everton’s campaign.
