Serhou Guirassy celebrates after hitting a goal

Augsburg’s chances for European football next season are over after they lost 1-0 to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Friday.

If Augsburg had won, they would have had a chance to qualify for European football next season. But they couldn’t beat Stuttgart, who are already qualified for the Champions League next season.

Before the match, Augsburg was in ninth place in the league, just one point behind Hoffenheim. Hoffenheim will play against Darmstadt on Sunday.

Stuttgart moved up to second place in the league, one point above Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich will play against Wolfsburg on Sunday.

Bayer Leverkusen has already won the league title. The only goal of the match was scored by Serhou Guirassy early in the second half. It was his 26th goal of the season.
