Luke Shaw

Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, has provided an update on Luke Shaw’s injury following their match against Luton Town on Sunday, February 18.

Shaw started the Premier League game but was forced off just before halftime, with Victor Lindelof taking his place. Ten Hag addressed Shaw’s condition after the match, stating (via Metro):

“I can’t tell. We have to wait a minimum until tomorrow to see what’s going on. Clear, when you come off, it doesn’t look great.”

Shaw has faced ongoing injury setbacks throughout his Manchester United career, including this season. He had previously dealt with a hamstring injury and has made only 15 appearances across competitions, providing one assist.

With Tyrell Malacia also sidelined since the beginning of the season, Ten Hag may need to rely on alternatives like Diogo Dalot or Lindelof as makeshift left-backs if Shaw’s injury proves to be severe.

Despite the setback, Manchester United secured a 2-1 victory against Luton Town, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring a brace within the first seven minutes before Carlton Morris pulled one back for the hosts seven minutes later.
