Germany’s preparations for the upcoming European Championship will include friendly matches against Ukraine and Greece, announced the German soccer federation on Tuesday.

The national team is scheduled to face Ukraine in Nuremberg on June 3, followed by a match against Greece, the 2004 European champion, in Mönchengladbach four days later.

Both opponents are still vying for qualification through the playoffs, with Ukraine set to play Bosnia-Herzegovina and Greece facing Kazakhstan in the playoff semifinals on Thursday.

“We have to prepare for different playing styles and systems,” commented Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann. “Ukraine and Greece are two strong, passionate teams.

We’ve had our difficulties with opponents of this type recently.”

Before these friendlies, Germany will confront France in Lyon on Saturday, followed by a clash with the Netherlands in Frankfurt on Tuesday.

The team’s preparations for Euro 2024 will kick off with a training camp in the state of Thuringia from May 26 to 31, before relocating to Herzogenaurach in Bavaria for the tournament.

Germany’s Euro 2024 campaign will commence with a match against Scotland in Munich on June 14, followed by encounters against Hungary in Stuttgart on June 19 and Switzerland in Frankfurt on June 23.
