Football pundit Mark Lawrenson has thrown his support behind Tottenham Hotspur to secure victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their upcoming Premier League clash on Saturday, February 17.

Tottenham will host Wolves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, riding on a wave of positive form in the league. With six wins, two draws, and just one loss in their last nine league matches, Spurs are positioned well.

In their recent home game, they clinched a 2-1 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion. Sitting comfortably in fourth place on the league table, Tottenham trails leaders Liverpool by seven points.

Meanwhile, Wolves, currently in 11th place, have struggled recently, winning only two of their last five league games and suffering a 2-0 defeat against Brentford in their previous outing at Molineux.

Reflecting on Wolves’ recent performance against Brentford, Lawrenson suggested that the scoreline could have been more lopsided, emphasizing Brentford’s strong showing. Anticipating Tottenham’s early attacking prowess, Lawrenson expressed doubt about Wolves’ ability to withstand their pressure in the initial stages of the match.

Lawrenson’s prediction favors Tottenham to emerge victorious with a 2-0 scoreline. The reverse fixture between the two sides in November saw Wolves claim a surprising 2-1 victory, despite Spurs scoring early through Brennan Johnson and Wolves netting twice in stoppage time through Pablo Sarabia and Mario Lemina.
