Juventus players celebrates after scoring a goal

It was another hectic day for Juventus on Sunday.

A late penalty from Razvan Marin allowed Cagliari to earn a 1-1 draw in Serie A.

This was the first goal Juventus had given up in the league this season. To make matters worse, Juventus winger Francisco Conceição was sent off shortly after for receiving a second yellow card.

This week had already been dramatic for Juventus, which came back from being down 2-1 with 10 men to win 3-2 at Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Before the match, there was a lot of discussion about midfielder Paul Pogba, whose four-year doping ban was reduced to 18 months on Friday.

Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli didn’t seem eager to welcome back the World Cup winner when asked about Pogba prior to the game.

Dusan Vlahoic celebrates a goal

Pogba, who can return to play in March, was watching the match from the stands.

Juventus took the lead in the 15th minute when Dusan Vlahovic scored a penalty by placing the ball into the bottom right corner after Cagliari defender Sebastiano Luperto was penalized for handling the ball.

The Juventus players celebrated by holding up Gleison Bremer’s shirt after he suffered a serious injury earlier in the week.

Just when it seemed Juventus would secure the win, Cagliari was awarded a penalty after midfielder Douglas Luiz collided with forward Roberto Piccoli.

Marin successfully converted the penalty, hitting it into the top left corner to equalize with two minutes left.

Less than a minute later, Conceição fell in the penalty area after feeling Adam Obert’s hand on his shoulder. He was shown a second yellow card for simulation and sent off.

Cagliari nearly completed the comeback in the fifth minute of stoppage time, but Obert’s shot hit the near post.

Juventus remained one of two unbeaten teams in Serie A, with Empoli also playing against Lazio later. Roma and AC Milan were scheduled to play later against Monza and Fiorentina, respectively.
