Sir Jim Ratcliffe

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is gearing up to showcase his financial prowess this summer, signaling a bold statement of intent for Manchester United in the Premier League with a series of high-profile signings.

In an unusual turn of events, Manchester United opted not to make any acquisitions during the January transfer window, deviating from their typical approach of capitalizing on the loan market.

Ratcliffe, having secured a 25% stake in the club from the Glazer family, has wasted no time in making significant moves, including initiatives to revamp Old Trafford and the recruitment of Omar Berrada from local rivals Manchester City.

Further changes are on the horizon at Old Trafford, with United reportedly eyeing Dan Ashworth from Newcastle United to fill the role of sporting director. However, for Erik ten Hag to guide United back to their former glory, on-field performance must align with these off-field transformations.

Harry Kane

According to Footballtransfers, Ratcliffe has revived interest in pursuing Harry Kane this summer as part of an anticipated spending spree for the club.

The report suggests: “Kane is highly regarded within Manchester United circles, and if he expresses a desire to return to the Premier League, the club will actively pursue him.

“Although Kane expressed interest in a move to Manchester United last summer, the club ultimately couldn’t meet Tottenham’s valuation. It’s speculated that Bayern Munich may offload several players in the summer to finance big-money deals, and whether Kane is among them hinges on the England striker,” the report stated.

The source also hinted at United revisiting another longstanding target. “Frenkie de Jong remains on the radar, but United won’t pursue the Dutchman unless there are positive signals from his current club,” Talbot suggested.

Despite de Jong publicly affirming his contentment at Barcelona, the club’s delicate financial situation leaves the door open for a potential move to Old Trafford, given United’s previous interest.
