Mohamed Salah greets the fans after the match

Liverpool has yet to concede a goal this season, with Mohamed Salah scoring in all three of their victories.

If this is how contract issues affect the team at Anfield, new manager Arne Slot is happy with the results.

Salah, captain Virgil van Dijk, and right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold are all in the final year of their contracts. Despite this, Liverpool is currently the only team keeping up with defending champion Manchester City.

Slot emphasized at a press conference on Friday that contract discussions are not a focus unless a new deal is being discussed. His attention is on securing a fourth consecutive win when Nottingham Forest visits Merseyside on Saturday.

“I’m completely focused on the players and the team,” Slot said regarding the three players. “They are part of the team, and we’re working to get the best out of them. So, it’s not a distraction for me.”

The shift from Jurgen Klopp to Slot has been smooth.

Slot is the first manager to win his first three Premier League games without allowing a goal since Sven-Göran Eriksson did so at Man City in 2007.

“It’s not just the defense that keeps a clean sheet — it’s all 11 players working together,” Slot said. “We try to make them understand that ideally, we wouldn’t need goalkeeper Allison. It’s a team effort to avoid conceding goals, and it involves a lot of work without the ball.”

The schedule will be hectic now, with seven matches over the next three weeks, including a Champions League game at Inter Milan on Tuesday.

During the international break, many Liverpool players played extensively for their national teams.
