Thomas Tuchel is set to depart Bayern Munich after the season, and reports suggest he’s eyeing a managerial position at Barcelona. This decision follows a challenging period for Bayern, who currently trail Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen by eight points.
With Tuchel’s departure confirmed by Bayern, the manager is actively seeking his next role, with a potential move to Spain on the horizon. Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg indicates that Barcelona is considering Tuchel as a candidate for their managerial position.
Interestingly, Tuchel’s departure is part of a trend where managers announce their exits mid-season, following in the footsteps of Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool and Xavi Hernandez at Camp Nou.
According to Plettenberg, Tuchel is receptive to the idea of joining FC Barcelona, drawn to the club’s rich heritage and its renowned youth academy, La Masia. Additionally, Tuchel has reportedly engaged in discussions with Barça legends Johan Cruyff and Pep Guardiola.
