After two big losses in the Champions League and being at the bottom of the table in Switzerland, Young Boys fired coach Patrick Rahmen on Tuesday.

In his first season with the club, the Swiss coach helped Young Boys upset Galatasaray in a playoff in August, allowing them to qualify for the Champions League.

However, the team has only won one out of nine games so far while trying to defend its Swiss Super League title.

Young Boys struggled in their first Champions League matches, losing 5-0 to Barcelona last week after starting with a 3-0 loss at home to Aston Villa.

The club announced that under-21s coach Joël Magnin will temporarily lead the team, which will host Inter Milan on October 23.

Magnin previously guided Young Boys to the Swiss title last season as an interim coach after replacing Raphaël Wicky, who was fired in March.
