Zak Brown, the head of McLaren Racing, announced on Friday that he had extended his contract to lead the organization until 2030.

He shared the news on social media, expressing his excitement about continuing to work with McLaren’s racing teams. Brown has been the CEO since 2018, overseeing all McLaren’s racing efforts from their base in England.

McLaren confirmed the contract extension during the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

In his statement, Brown expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with McLaren’s talented staff, fans, and partners. He emphasized their commitment to pushing the limits of motorsport, both on and off the track.

McLaren is unique in competing across various racing series including Formula 1, IndyCar, Formula E, Extreme E, and esports. The Formula 1 team currently includes drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, both signed on long-term contracts.

In IndyCar, the team features drivers Pato O’Ward, Alexander Rossi, and David Malukas, although Malukas is currently injured, with Callum Ilott substituting for him in the first two races.

Brown concluded by stating his shared goal with McLaren fans: winning. He encouraged everyone to continue striving for success.

At the time of the announcement, Australia hosted the third race of the Formula 1 season, while IndyCar was holding an exhibition race in Thermal, California.
