Giannis Antetokounmpo showcased his dominance with a stellar performance, tallying 32 points and 11 rebounds to guide the Milwaukee Bucks to a 114-105 triumph over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.

Supporting Antetokounmpo’s effort, Brook Lopez contributed 19 points and seven rebounds, while Damian Lillard chipped in with 17 points and nine assists for the Bucks. This victory came as a relief for Milwaukee, who had endured a tough stretch on the West Coast, losing three of their last four games, including a lopsided defeat against the Sacramento Kings.

Despite a valiant effort from Tyrese Maxey, who scored 30 points for the 76ers, Philadelphia couldn’t overcome the Bucks’ resilience. Tobias Harris added 15 points, and Cam Payne contributed 13 in a losing effort.

Trailing 83-80 at the start of the fourth quarter, the Bucks staged a comeback, taking control of the game with key plays from Bobby Portis and AJ Green. Green’s clutch shooting off the bench, including 14 points in 28 minutes, proved pivotal in securing the victory.

“We had the right juice today. We had fun, and it showed on the court,” Payne remarked, reflecting on Philadelphia’s spirited performance despite the loss.

Philadelphia, missing star player Joel Embiid due to injury, struggled to generate offense throughout the game. The absence of Embiid, sidelined with a meniscus injury, has posed challenges for the 76ers, who have now lost 13 of their last 20 games without him.

The 76ers started strong, shooting efficiently in the first quarter and building an early lead. However, the Bucks fought back, led by Antetokounmpo’s resilience and Lopez’s sharpshooting from beyond the arc.

Milwaukee’s defensive adjustments in the fourth quarter proved crucial, as they managed to contain Maxey, who was held scoreless from the field in the final period.

Reflecting on the win, Lopez emphasized the importance of being ready for open shots, capitalizing on the attention drawn by Antetokounmpo and Lillard in pick-and-roll situations.

“The gravity of that pick-and-roll pulls everyone in. You’ve just got to be ready on the weak side,” Lopez noted, highlighting the Bucks’ tactical advantage in the game.
