Filipino fighter Lito Adiwang is gearing up for his upcoming bout against Australian Danial Williams later this month. Despite Williams’ experience in championship battles within ONE Championship, ‘Thunder Kid’ remains undaunted and believes he can match up against his seasoned adversary and emerge victorious.
Scheduled as a featured MMA clash at ONE Fight Night 19: Haggerty vs. Lobo on Prime Video, set to take place on February 16 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the matchup promises to be an intriguing showdown.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Adiwang, now based in Indonesia, acknowledged Williams’ history of facing world champions in ONE but emphasized his unique fighting style. He expressed confidence in bringing something new to the ring and leveraging it to secure a win.
Adiwang, affiliated with Soma Fight Camp and aged 26, remarked, “Sure, he’s faced a lot of world champions, and I know for myself that I bring something different to the table. I’ll just have to show it in the ring.”
This event marks Adiwang’s third fight since his return from a knee injury in September. He made a triumphant comeback with a TKO victory over Indonesian Adrian Mattheis in just 23 seconds and followed it up with a unanimous decision win against compatriot Jeremy Miado.
On the other hand, Williams, aged 30, aims to break his three-fight losing streak, with his recent defeats coming in title bouts against Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Jonathan Di Bella.
ONE Fight Night 19 will be broadcast live in US primetime on February 16, available free of charge for existing Prime Video subscribers in North America.
