Milwaukee Brewers vs St. Louis Cardinals

Jackson Chourio hit a home run right after Brice Turang’s in the fourth inning, making him one of the fourth-youngest players since 1900 to achieve four homers in his first 17 games. The Milwaukee Brewers had a big win over the St. Louis Cardinals, 12-5, on Saturday.

Rhys Hoskins also contributed with a homer and three RBIs for the Brewers. They had their best hitting day in three years, with 18 hits.

Every Brewers player got a hit, and eight of them got multiple hits for the first time since April 22, 2010, against Pittsburgh. Even the bottom three batters in the lineup did well, going 6 for 12 with four RBIs.

“It was a good day offensively,” said Brewers manager Pat Murphy. “They’re starting to get a little confidence.

It’s early in the season and you start looking up at the board at the numbers and kids get in their heads sometimes. I think they’re focused now on just getting good pitches to hit and trying to swing the right way at the ball.”

The Brewers are doing great on the road, with a 9-2 record, the best in the major leagues. They’ve also been dominant against the Cardinals lately, winning seven of their last eight games against them. This was their highest hit count since they had 22 hits in a 17-4 victory against the Chicago Cubs on August 12, 2021.
