Tyler Glasnow pitches in the 1st inning

Cincinnati pitcher Hunter Greene and Baltimore infielder Jordan Westburg were chosen as first-time All-Stars on Tuesday to replace injured players.

Greene was picked to take the spot of Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow, who went on the injured list due to back tightness retroactive to Saturday.

Westburg replaced Boston’s Rafael Devers, who withdrew due to left shoulder soreness after finishing second in voting behind Cleveland’s José Ramírez.

Despite being selected, Glasnow still plans to attend the All-Star Game on July 16 in Arlington, Texas.

Greene and Westburg join the All-Star roster, bringing the total to 34 players. In total, five players have been replaced, making the overall count of All-Stars 69.

San Diego’s Fernando Tatis Jr., voted by fans to start, will miss the game due to a stress reaction in his right thigh bone.

Dodgers’ Mookie Betts, chosen for his eighth consecutive All-Star appearance by players, has been sidelined since fracturing his left hand on June 16.

Due to injury, Philadelphia’s Zack Wheeler will miss the All-Star Game, with Elly De La Cruz of Cincinnati and MLB picks Paul Skenes of Pittsburgh and Heliot Ramos of San Francisco filling in for Betts and Wheeler respectively.
