Taylor Ward hit a double that brought in two runs in the eighth inning, making the Angels win 4-3 against the Yankees. Kevin Pillar also hit a homer and had three hits. The Angels were losing, but then they came back and won the game.

Ron Washington, the manager, said Ward’s hit was very important for the team. It was only the second time in 29 games that they won after being behind in the seventh inning.

Ward said he took a chance and it paid off. He was happy it worked out well. The game felt a bit like a road game because there were many New York fans in the stadium.

Ward got his chance to hit after the Yankees made a mistake and didn’t get an out. Anthony Rizzo, the Yankees’ first baseman, made a mistake that helped the Angels.

Matt Moore got the win as the Angels’ bullpen stopped the Yankees from scoring any more runs. Juan Soto, who hit a home run earlier in the game, couldn’t do much at the end.

Aaron Boone, the Yankees’ manager, said his team had good at-bats but couldn’t get enough runs to win.
