Despite being at the bottom of the NL West standings with a record of 18-34, the Rockies managed to win two out of three games against the Phillies, breaking Philadelphia’s streak of 15 consecutive winning or tied series, which was their longest streak since 1983-84.

Suárez, who had an impressive record of 9-0 before this game, struggled against the Rockies, giving up five runs and four walks in six innings. McMahon praised Suárez’s deceptive pitching style but credited the Rockies for their early offensive performance.
Quantrill, who earned his fourth win of the season, highlighted the team’s belief in winning every game and expressed confidence in their ability to compete against any opponent.
